Tweens buy into media created lifestyles through skincare and makeup without realizing that these beauty choices are selling them an image rather than true self-expression. Images and representations can be shown as more real than the real, as seen in the ways of makeup and skincare are portrayed and how social media is impacting younger generations perception of reality. In these series of images I portray young girls who are consumed by branding rather than self-expression. I worry about the self analyzing and comparison of others.
